A review meeting of the Chandigarh Smart City Advisory Forum was held under the chairmanship of Anup Gupta, Mayor Chandigarh. He reviewed the current status and progress of all the projects being carried out by Chandigarh Smart City Limited.
N.P. Sharma, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Smart City Limited briefed the Chairperson in the presence of Anindita Mitra IAS, Chief Executive Officer,Chandigarh Smart City Limited about all the projevcts which have been implemented and which are under implementation stage.
Mayor congratulated the team of Chandigarh Smart City Limited for its achievements for winning the Best UT Award, First Award in Governance & Mobility Projects, Third Award under for SCADA Sanitation Category in India Smart Cities Award Contest 2022, First in Learnathon conducted by National Institute of Urban Affairs and Award for “Outstanding Concrete Structure 2023” for ICCC, PCCC & SCADA by Indian Concrete Institute.
The updated status of Sewerage Treatment Plants was shared with Mayor, Chandigarh.
The impact of ICCC project was presented that how the project has benefitted in terms of reduction in traffic rules violations, reduction in carbon emission and saving of fuel through Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS) and resolution of criminal cases with the help of CCTV Surveillance. It was also shared that with the help of Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), around 28 Lakh violation captured in last 17 months, more than 10 Lakh challans have been issued and expected revenue realized is around INR 12 Cr. by Traffic Police.
The status of various projects like Public Bike Sharing, Garbage Transfer Stations cum Material Recovery Facilities, SCADA for Solid Waste Management Vehicles Tracking, Smart Solutions in Education, Tertiary Treated etc was elaborated during the review meeting and how these projects are creating positive impact in the city. Sh. Anup Gupta appreciated the progress of projects undertaken by Chandigarh Smart City Limited.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Chief Engineer, Chandigarh, Chief Architect, Chandigarh, Sh. Anil Kumar Garg, Additional CEO, CSCL, representative of RWA, and other officers.
