Security forces launched a massive search operation in the border belt of Akhnoor in Jammu district on Friday following reports of suspicious movement by three armed individuals in the area, officials confirmed.
According to sources, late last night, three armed men were sighted in the Gura Patan area along the Jammu Rajouri highway. They approached a local resident oautside his poultry farm, demanded water and a mobile phone to make a call. The resident, sensing something amiss, promptly alerted the authorities.
In response, a joint search operation involving the Army, police, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was initiated in Guda Patan and Kana Chak areas near the Chenab river in the Akhnoor border belt this morning. Officials stated that the operation was launched after receiving information from concerned individuals about the suspicious movement of three persons in the vicinity. Security forces have conducted thorough searches of agricultural fields, villages, and surrounding areas as part of the ongoing operation. The search operation remains underway as authorities continue their efforts to locate and apprehend the individuals involved.
