Coronavirus has been spreading its wings all over the nation. Seeing the nationwide upward trend in the Covid cases, Union health minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday chaired a review meeting with health ministers of states and UTs via video conferencing.

In order to monitor Covid-19 situation across the nation, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya analyses public health preparedness. He added that states and the Center must continue to cooperate as they did during prior surges.

“The five-fold strategy of the government, such as Test-Track-Treat-Vaccinate and Adherence, will continue to cope with the Covid situation,” as per the govt.

State health ministers were asked to conduct an exercise programme in all healthcare centres on 10 and 11 April; they were urged to visit hospitals to assess the situation, and discuss preparations with district administration and public health officials on 8 and 9 April.

The Health Minister advised state governments to conduct mock drills all over the health centres on 10 and 11 April.

Seeing the rising number of cases, “Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, said the Centre has been regularly trying to issue guidelines to states and UTs on how to deal with the Covid cases.

India today recorded 6,050 new cases in 24 hours, while the active case tally stood at 28,303 on Friday.

All the state governments have been asked to identify emergency hotspots; speed up testing and vaccination, and ensure the readiness of hospital infrastructure.
