A man was arrested in Panchkula’s Kot village for allegedly treating patients without being qualified or having registered with relevant authorities. The accused Dr Subhash Vashisht, however, claimed that he was a registered medical practitioner with a bachelor in Indigenous Medicine in Allopathy.

After receiving the complaints following the directions of the CMO, Panchkula, and ADG, CID, Haryana launched the investigation against the doctor.

The team visited the accused’s clinic and recovered a total of 21 types of allopathic medicines and other medical equipment and instruments during the investigation. The accused have been arrested and an FIR also filed against him under Sections 15(2) 15(3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, for practising as an allopathy doctor.

According to the law, the person who practises allopathy should be registered as a medical practitioner with Indian Medical Council or the State Medical Council of particular state/UT.
