A man was electrocuted while running on a treadmill in a gym in north Delhi’s Rohini on Tuesday. The police have detained the gym owner on suspicion of causing a fatality through negligence.
Later, the deceased, identified as Saksham Pruthi, was a 24-year-old BTech graduate who used to work at a company in Gurugram.
Saksham used to exercise at the Gymplex Fitness Zone in Rohini’s Sector 15, where he lived in Sector 19.
The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning at around 7:30 am, Saksham was using the gym’s treadmill when the incident took place. He sat down to relax after the workout but soon collapsed and passed out.
He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Later, the postmortem report cards confirmed that electrocution was the cause of death. The police informed the deceased’s family about it.
The deceased’s mother said that the tragedy took place due to negligence on the part of the gym owner.
She went on to say that her son ate an apple and left for the gym. Later, we received this tragic news. I want justice for my son, she said.
