Earlier today, the National Commission for Women summoned Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar over Swati Maliwal’s allegations.
In relation to the reported attack on AAP MP Swati Maliwal at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s home, a team of Delhi Police arrived at her home on Thursday. To obtain information about the purported incident, the team—led by a rank officer of the Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP)—went to Maliwal’s residence, according to officials.
Days after leaving Tihar Jail on temporary release to run for Lok Sabha, Arvind Kejriwal found himself in another scandal. According to early reports, Kejriwal’s home called the Delhi Police on Monday morning to report that Swati Maliwal had been beaten there. Maliwal went to the Civil Lines Police Station thereafter, but he left without reporting anything.
On Tuesday, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said that while Maliwal was waiting to see the CM, Kejriwal’s personal secretary, Bibhav Kumar, “misbehaved” with her. The chief minister has “taken note of the incident and has asked for strict action,” Singh continued.
On Wednesday, a number of BJP politicians demonstrated against Arvind Kejriwal’s supposed “misbehavior” with Swati Maliwal at his home.
Kejriwal PA Bibhav Kumar was seen at the Lucknow airport with the Delhi CM, even though the AAP had acknowledged the purported misbehavior with Maliwal.
Meanwhile, Bibhav Kumar has been called by the National Commission for Women on Friday at 11 a.m., citing a media article titled “Ex-DCW chief Swati Maliwal accuses Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary of assaulting her” as their reason.
The Commission sent out a notification threatening further action should noncompliance be judged necessary.
This episode has sparked debate and conjecture since Kumar, a significant member of the Chief Minister’s office, is the target of grave accusations from a well-known public figure such as Maliwal.
But as of yet, police have not received any formal complaint.
