Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is a powerhouse of talent and on Monday, he took to social media to state he had started work on his 360th film. On X (formerly Twitter), the Drishyam star posted some photos and wrote, “On the set, joining in prayers as we commence filming the project led by director Tharun Moorthy and produced by M. Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media. I express my deepest gratitude and seek your blessings as I embark on my 360th film venture.”

The Monster star is acting with award-winning actor Shobana after a gap of 20 years in this movie. The pair were one of the hottest in Malayalam cinema at the time and have acted in about 55 films together. Mohanlal and Shobana were last paired together for the movie ‘Mampazhakkalam’ in 2004 and she was last seen in Anoop Sathyan’s movie ‘Varane Avashyamund’ in 2020.

Shobana stated, “It is a great day to announce that after a long time I’m going to do a Malayalam film. I’m super excited. The director is Tharun Moorthy. Can you guess who the hero is? It is none other than Mohanlal. It is Lalji’s 360th film. I would like to wish him all the best. This is our 56th film together. So, I’m super excited. Just hope everyone loves the film.”

The upcoming film is directed by Tharun Moorthy, who has helmed movies like Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka. Mohanlal’s last film was with Lijo Jose Pellissery which was an action drama film called ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’. This movie was ambitious but unfortunately failed to impress the audiences. But the Malayalam star has Prithviraj Sukumaran’s L2: Empuraan in the works and this movie is highly-anticipated not just by the Malayalam audience but the pan-Indian audience as well.
