In a significant administrative overhaul, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has undertaken a massive transfer of 230 bureaucrats, including two IAS and IFS officers, in a recent move announced on Wednesday night. The reshuffle encompasses a diverse range of positions, with changes at the special secretary, additional secretary, deputy secretary, and under secretary levels.

According to the late-night order, 36 special secretary officers, 60 additional secretaries, 85 deputy secretaries, and 45 under secretaries have been reassigned to various departments.

IAS officer Pardeep Kumar, previously serving as the Director of Archives, Archaeology, and Museums in Jammu and Kashmir, has been transferred and appointed as the Secretary in the Forest department. IFS officer Alok Kumar Maurya has been repatriated to the Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment from the Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board.

In the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), key appointments include Asif Hamid Khan as a member of the J-K Special Tribunal, Vivek Sharma as Secretary in the Agriculture Production department, Bashir Ahmed Khan as Secretary in the Social Welfare department, and Sajad Hussain as Director General, Development Expenditure Division-I, Finance Department.

This reshuffle marks the third major reorganization in the police and administration since Atal Dulloo assumed the role of Chief Secretary in December of the previous year. In the latest round on January 28, a significant reshuffle in the police department saw the transfer of 75 officers, including 30 IPS officers, indicating a proactive approach in the governance structure.
