Actor Tamannaah Bhatia, who is currently not in Mumbai, has requested an extension from the Maharashtra Cyber Department to appear before them amidst the ongoing legal proceedings related to the Mahadev Betting App controversy.

The matter is the purported unapproved transmission of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) via the Fairplay app, which is a division of Mahadev’s digital gaming and wagering enterprise.

Rapper and musician Badshah was previously interrogated regarding the same matter. Actor Sanjay Dutt was also summoned, but he has asked for additional time to present himself before the authorities.

Actor Sahil Khan was arrested on Sunday and was remanded to police custody for two days by a Mumbai court, starting from April 29.

Khan presented himself before the Shindewadi-Dadar court after being apprehended by the Special Investigative Team (SIT) of the Mumbai Crime Branch following his arrest in Chhattisgarh.

Mujahid Ansari, Khan’s lawyer, asserted his client’s innocence by stating, “He has been framed in the matter and been accused of promoting the app.” Mumbai Police has confiscated Khan’s passport as part of the ongoing legal proceedings.

The actor is accused of operating an online bookmaking service and promoting illegal gambling.

Khan is among the over 38 individuals implicated in the Mahadev Betting App case, which is believed to involve fraudulent activities totaling around Rs 15,000 crore. Mustakim, the brother of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim, and the primary accused Ravi Uppal, who was detained in Dubai last year, are among the linked individuals.

In recent years, Sahil Khan, known for his roles in films like ‘Style’ and ‘Excuse Me,’ transitioned into the fitness industry. Initially probed by local authorities, the case was subsequently transferred to the cyber cell of the Crime Branch, leading to the formation of the SIT.
