With concerted efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the State Government has received a communication from Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for disbursement of compensation & possession of encumbrance free land for all packages of Ludhiana-Rupnagar with Spur to Kharar section of NH-205K.
In a meeting held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua regarding land acquisition of Ludhiana-Rupnagar highway, it was informed that decks have been cleared for disbursement and possession of land for the project. The Chief Secretary Janjua also directed Deputy Commissioners to expedite handing over of possession of land for all National Highway projects as these are going to boost economy of the State.
Secretary, Public Works (B&R) Nilkanth S Avhad apprised that a communication from Secretary MORT&H had been received and asked to expedite the work.
Taking part in deliberations, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surbhi Malik mentioned that District Administration was making continuous efforts to take possession of land. Under Package-I, possession of 18.90 Km out of 37.70 Km has already been taken. DC, Ludhiana further mentioned that within next week 70% possession of land will be handed over to NHAI. Subsequently, possession of land under Package-II will be taken.
Similarly, the Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar Preeti Yadav also stated that under Package-III, possession of 13 Km out of 36.26 Km had already been handed over to NHAI. It was further brought out that 80% of land will be handed over by next week. The Deputy Commissioner SAS Nagar Amit Talwar mentioned that under Package-III, 80% of land will be handed over by the next week.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary asked NHAI representatives to mobilise full resources on site with more manpower and machinery.
