Smriti Irani, Union Women and Child Development Minister, recalled on Wednesday the difficult journey she undertook as a BJP worker to build a base in the Amethi constituency and beat Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha elections.
On the second day of the Manch 2023 political conclave organised by ITV Network, she slammed Congress and its first family for ignoring the welfare of the people there. “I don’t know if the BJP parliamentary board will give me the ticket to contest again from Amethi, but I am very confident that the party’s Lotus will bloom there,” she said.
She said the BJP will again win Amethi’s seat in the upcoming Loksabha election. She pointed out that “till 2019 Congress National President had never lost in Amethi, but Rahul Gandhi lost it to me in 2019.”
She further said that after 40 years of Congress in Amethi, there was a drastic shift in the vote share seen in 2014, and eventually we ended up winning the seat in 2019. She added that in 2014, we didn’t have chairs in 60% of the boots in Amethi, but by the end of 2019, we had 10,000 workers working for the BJP government.
She highlighted that during Congress’s tenure, thousands of people in Amethi didn’t have their houses, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we made houses for them. We made more than 3 lakh toilets, and not only this, we also constructed the first-ever dialysis unit in Amethi.
Smriti Irani also slams the Congress party for making a false narrative. She added, “Congress had done their entire politics in terms of cast and religion, and now they are making a false narrative by saying north-south and trying to divide the country in terms of geographical difference.” She also pointed out that during the UPA government, Rahul Gandhi said I got scared of Hindu terrorism, and now they are making an alliance with the parties that are commenting against Sanatan.
She mentioned that the party that always neglected the existence of the Lord Ram is now demanding an invitation to the inaugural ceremony of the Ram Temple. They get exposed and People will never trust them again. She concluded her words by saying “Narendra Modi has gone beyond politics, and he has become an ideology and a movement.”
