In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, the state of Punjab has bolstered its security measures by welcoming 25 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Aimed at ensuring the elections are conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, these forces include five companies of Central Reserved Police Forces (CRPF), 15 companies of Border Security Force (BSF), and five companies of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Providing further insights, Special Director General of Police (Spl DGP) Law and Order, Arpit Shukla, disclosed that these forces will be strategically deployed in vulnerable districts across the state. The primary objectives are to instill confidence among the general public and to assert control over sensitive and hyper-sensitive areas.

Shukla emphasized the ongoing mapping of vulnerable areas to facilitate the deployment of additional forces, ensuring a proactive stance against potential disruptions in the lead-up to the general elections. The Spl DGP highlighted the directives issued to all Commissioners of Police and Senior Superintendents of Police, urging them to intensify surveillance on anti-social elements.

Additionally, they have been instructed to conduct flag marches within their jurisdictions to build confidence among the public.
