Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Chief Of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan Urges Citizens To Exercise Their Democratic Rights

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, along with his wife Anupama Chauhan, exercised their democratic rights by casting their votes at a polling station in the national capital during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Following the casting of their votes, CDS Chauhan emphasized the importance of citizen participation in the electoral process, urging all eligible voters to exercise their franchise.

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar also participated in the electoral process by casting his vote at a polling booth in Delhi. Kumar highlighted the efforts made to ensure inclusivity in the election process, expressing satisfaction with the turnout witnessed across various states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Tripura, Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

CEC Rajiv Kumar commended the enthusiasm and turnout observed across the nation during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024, noting the positive feedback received regarding the arrangements made for the convenience of voters, such as the provision of fans, medical assistance, and drinking water.

The sixth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 encompasses significant constituencies, including eight seats in Bihar, all 10 seats in Haryana, one seat in Jammu and Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, all seven seats in Delhi, six in Odisha, 14 in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal. Additionally, forty-two assembly constituencies in Odisha are also part of this phase, as the state conducts simultaneous assembly elections alongside the Lok Sabha polls.
