Tejasvi Surya, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Bangalore South constituency, performed prayers at his residence before casting his vote for the second phase of Lok Sabha polls. Congress has nominated Sowmya Reddy to contest against Surya in Bangalore South.

In a post on X, Tejasvi Surya urged voters to support the BJP symbol, stating, “Wishing all candidates of BJP Karnataka the very best! The people of Karnataka are nationalists. They’ve witnessed the State’s growth under PM Narendra Modi in the last 10 years. Urge all of you to click on the lotus button and elect Modi Ji once again!”

Karnataka is voting on 14 seats today in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections. Bangalore South has historically favored the BJP, remaining undefeated by the party since 1991. Late Ananth Kumar was elected to the Lok Sabha six times from this seat.

In the 2019 elections, Tejasvi Surya secured victory with a significant margin against Congress’ BK Hariprasad, becoming the youngest BJP MP in Lok Sabha.

The second phase covers 88 Lok Sabha constituencies, including 20 seats in Kerala, 14 in Karnataka, 13 in Rajasthan, eight in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, five each in Assam and Bihar, six in Madhya Pradesh, three each in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal, and one each in Tripura, Manipur, and Jammu and Kashmir.
