Enforcement agencies in Rajasthan have confiscated liquor, cash, and other items valued at over Rs 900 crore. The highest seizure, totaling Rs 46.60 crore, was recorded in Jodhpur.

Different enforcement agencies are keeping a close watch to ensure fair elections across Rajasthan. Besides, strict action is also being taken by keeping a close watch on suspicious items and illegal use of money to prevent the elections from being affected.

Voting has concluded in 12 Lok Sabha constituencies under the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the state, while under the second phase, voting is to be held on April 26. Between March 1 and April 23, items including drugs, liquor, precious metals, freebies, and illicit cash amounting to approximately Rs 904.32 crore have been seized across the state.

Notably, the largest seizure of Rs 46.60 crore occurred in Jodhpur district. Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta disclosed that during this period, suspicious items and cash exceeding Rs 40 crore were confiscated in three districts of Rajasthan, Rs 30 crore in ten districts, and Rs 20 crore in thirteen districts.

Bharatpur Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa said that a total of Rs 15 crore 72 lakh has been seized in the district during the Lok Sabha elections. In this, Rs 65,80,920 in cash, 19,964 liters of liquor worth Rs 15,80,525, other items and freebies worth Rs 14 crore 89 lakh have been seized.
