He praised the citizens for their commitment to democracy and commended the efforts of election officials and security forces in ensuring a free, fair, and transparent electoral process in the Union Territory.
“I thank the people for empowering and strengthening democracy in the UT of J&K. I laud the efforts of the CEO J&K, Election Commission officials, JKP, and security forces for working tirelessly and diligently to uphold the sanctity of the ballot and successfully completing a transparent, free, and fair election,” Sinha said in a statement.
Congratulating the elected members of the Legislative Assembly and the National Conference-led alliance on their victory, the LG extended his best wishes to them as they assume their new responsibilities. “My heartiest congratulations to all the members elected to the Legislative Assembly and the NC-led alliance for their victory in the polls. Best wishes to them in the service of the people,” he said.
Sinha further emphasized the significance of the Constitution of India as the guiding framework for all governance in the region. “The Constitution of India is our guiding light, and I urge everyone to work together for the growth of J&K and the welfare of its people,” he added.
Reflecting on the peaceful and high voter turnout, the Lieutenant Governor underscored the strength of J&K’s democratic fabric and the people’s deep faith in the democratic values of the country. “The peaceful electoral process and participation of millions of voters is a testimony to vibrant democracy and the people’s faith in the democratic values of the country. Today, J&K stands taller, guided by principles of good governance, people-first policies, social justice, and social harmony,” he remarked.
