LG Sinha fast-tracks appointments, launches E-Bus in Jammu

On the eve of the 75th Republic Day, Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha assured the people of J&K of expediting the process of compassionate appointments for the remaining cases. Expressing gratitude to Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah for prioritizing the overall progress of the UT, LG Sinha affirmed the commitment to wipe tears from every eye and ensure a happy and successful life for every family in the region.

The occasion saw the virtual launch of E-Bus Services for Jammu Smart City by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. As part of the initiative, 100 e-Buses were dedicated to the people of the UT, aiming to transform smart mobility in Jammu city and connected areas, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for citizens.

Amit Shah handed over appointment letters to 209 candidates selected through Combined Competitive Exams and released 885 compassionate appointment letters, reinforcing the commitment to dignified lives for families of martyrs and hardworking employees.

LG Sinha highlighted the UT Administration’s efforts towards socio-economic empowerment, especially for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. Notably, on January 24, entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities were provided to 94,680 youth—a milestone in the region’s history.

Emphasizing merit-based and transparent recruitment, LG Sinha noted that since August 2019, 31,830 appointments have been made, and recruitments for 12,264 posts are currently in process. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the UT Administration is committed to realizing the potential and dreams of the people of J&K.

Present at the event were Union Minister for Heavy Industries Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, Members of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma and Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, Union Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, along with senior officials of the Government of India and UT Administration, both in person and through virtual mode.
