In a major breakthrough, security forces successfully neutralized two terrorists, including a high-ranking army commander affiliated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit, in a two-day encounter in Rajouri district. Tragically, the encounter claimed the lives of five Army personnel, including two captains from the special forces, while three others sustained injuries. Despite the overnight vigil, fresh firing erupted on Thursday morning in the Bajimaal area of the Dharmsal belt. The intense exchange resulted in the elimination of the two LeT terrorists, but not without the sacrifice of one soldier’s life.The encounter, spanning two days, witnessed a total of four Army personnel losing their lives. The security forces remain on high alert, emphasizing the formidable challenges they face in tackling terrorism in the region.
