Koffee with Karan Season 8, streaming on Disney+Hotstar, dropped its third episode featuring two young Bollywood divas—Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Pandey. Karan Johar seemed very excited to get them on the couch and start talking about their ex-es and their currents. The couch, sadly, didn’t sizzle this episode though some revelations were made by the two actresses.
Kedarnath actor Sara Ali Khan overpowered the conversation right from the start but what refreshing was that she accepted that she had made mistakes in her career and some of her performances were underwhelming. On the other hand, Ananya Pandey revealed she was still looking for respect from the audience though she got love and with the highly-marketed Liger bombing, her dreams perhaps got crushed a little. “The Liger in the room” became a joke of sorts on the show as well.
One interesting aspect K Jo brought up was about friendships and fallouts within the film industry and he spoke about his own experiences with Kareena Kapoor and Kajol. Sara had a really mature attitude when she said it’s best not to have realistic expectations in the film industry because there is nothing permanent.
Momagers also came up and K Jo asked the two actors about their respective moms – while Sara’s mom, Amrita Singh, is known to be a no-nonsense person, Ananya’s mom, Bhavana Pandey, is still not as well-known among the public. From this episode, it was clear that Sara gets a lot of her personality from her mom and Ananya, her father, Chunky Pandey.
Unfortunately, this third episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8 wasn’t exciting.
One didn’t get to know anything about Sara Ali Khan or Ananya Pandey as people and actors but just the same routine stuff about who they were/are dating which the whole world knows about now.
