The famous coffee couch was graced by veteran actor Sharmila Tagore and his son Saif Ali Khan in the most recent episode of “Koffee with Karan Season 8.” The show’s host, Karan Johar, disclosed to the attendees that he had hoped for Tagore to portray Alia Bhatt’s grandmother in “Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.” “I had proposed to Sharmila ji the role from ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ that Shabana (Azmi) ji had played. My first choice was her. She was unable to say yes at the time due to health issues. but I regret it,” KJo remarked. Tagore responded that she wasn’t vaccinated and didn’t want to take a chance during the pandemic.

She explained: “It was at the height of COVID-19. They hadn’t really grappled with COVID-19 at that time, and we were not vaccinated. After my cancer, they didn’t want me to take that risk.”
Meanwhile, Sharmila Tagore started her acting career at 14 with Satyajit Ray’s acclaimed Bengali drama ‘The World of Apu’.
