Under the able leadership of Principal, Dr. Abha Sudarshan a one day Seminar under People’s Education Programme (PEP) was organised by the State Office Punjab & U.T. Chandigarh, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Govt. of India at Post Graduate Govt. College, Sector -46, Chandigarh. Jagdip Singh, Assistant Director, Khadi Udyog distributed the certificates and prizes to the winners of Essay Competition and Debate Competition organised by the college. At the end of the event formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Baljit Singh, Vice-Principal of the college. Dr. G. C. Sethi, Ms. Jyoti, Dr. Desh Raj, Mr. Gaurav Jindal and about 80 students participated in the event.
Earlier in the day, the Vada Club of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh hosted a talk titled «Drug Abuse is a Shortcut to Nowhere». Dr. Abha Sudarshan, the college principal, extended a warm welcome to Sh. Baldev Kumar, SHO of Police Station, Sector-34, Chandigarh, the keynote speaker. Dr. Sudarshan Commended the organizing committee›s efforts and highlighted the importance of such talks in raising awareness among students. Baldev Kumar, emphasized the detrimental consequences of drug abuse. He oriented the students about drug abuse and reasons for drug dependency.
