Kuldeep Yadav Should Be in India Team in T20 World Cup Clash Against Pakistan: Aakash Chopra

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed his desire for spinner Kuldeep Yadav to be included in the Men in Blue’s lineup for their upcoming clash against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Kuldeep has an impressive record in T20Is, having taken 59 wickets at an economy rate of 6.75 in 35 matches.

Speaking to JioCinema, Chopra emphasized that the much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan will be a test of nerves and skills. He noted that both teams can expect equal support from fans at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Chopra highlighted the significance of the toss, suggesting that the team winning it would likely opt to bowl first to control the powerplay. While he believes pace will dominate the match, he expressed his desire to see Kuldeep Yadav play, although he is unsure if he will be selected.

India currently occupies the second spot in the Group A standings following their victory over Ireland in their opening match. On the other hand, Pakistan faced a disappointing loss against the US in a super over.

Recalling India’s previous match against Ireland, Chopra mentioned that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma’s decision to field first paid off, with the bowlers putting immense pressure on the Irish batsmen. Despite a late fightback, Ireland managed to reach a total of 96 runs in 16 overs. The bowling unit, led by Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Axar Patel, delivered fine performances.

During the run chase, Rohit Sharma’s half-century and a supportive knock by Rishabh Pant helped India secure an eight-wicket victory.

India’s squad for the T20 World Cup includes Rohit Sharma (Captain), Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (Wicketkeeper), Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sanju Samson.
