The Allahabad High Court set February 29 for further hearing on a plea challenging the maintainability of a suit seeking the removal of Shahi Idgah mosque in Mathura.
The Shahi Idgah Intezamia Committee challenged the petition filed by Bhagwan Shrikrishna Virajman at the Katra Keshav Dev temple, asserting that the mosque was constructed on a 13.37-acre land of the temple and seeks its removal.
Following the proceedings on Friday, Justice Mayank Kumar Jain scheduled February 29 as the next hearing date.

In May 2023, the high court transferred all 15 cases concerning the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah mosque dispute to itself. On January 17, the court granted time to the Hindu side to respond to the application filed by the Muslim side.
The Krishna Janmasthan Temple Complex is a group of Hindu temples situated in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India. There are three main temples inside the premises — Keshavdev temple which is dedicated to Krishna, Garbh Griha where Krishna is believed to be born in Dvapar Yuga and Bhagvata Bhavan where presiding deities are Radha Krishna.
