King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia was diagnosed with inflammation and is currently undergoing antibiotic treatment in Jeddah.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz ascended to the throne as the seventh King of Saudi Arabia on January 23, 2015, following the passing of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. He concurrently holds the position of Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers.
Previously, King Salman was designated as Crown Prince and appointed Deputy Prime Minister by King Abdullah on June 18, 2012, following the death of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz. Born in Riyadh on December 31, 1935, King Salman received his education at the Prince’s School in Riyadh. He served as Deputy Governor and Governor of Riyadh before being appointed Minister of Defense on November 5, 2011.
Throughout his career, King Salman has chaired numerous humanitarian and service committees, providing aid in response to natural and man-made disasters. He has been honored with various medals and decorations from countries such as Bahrain, France, and the United Nations, among others.
Recognized for his contributions to academia and science, King Salman has received honorary degrees and awards, including an honorary doctorate from the Islamic University of Madinah and the Kant Medal from the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
In April 2012, during an official visit to the United States as Crown Prince, King Salman met with President Barack Obama.
