Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday called for a united fight against the fascist forces in the country. He criticised Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his surrender before Prime Minister Narendra Modi, despite the latter backing out of granting special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

Kharge also announced a guarantee of providing Rs 5,000 monthly support to the poor families in the state once the Congress party forms the government here.
Addressing the Nyaya Sadhana Sabha here today, Kharge said that Prime Minister Modi was too scared of the Congress and that was the reason he keeps on attacking the Congress leaders including Ms Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and himself (Kharge).
He said it was the duty of everyone to unite and defeat the fascist forces as only then democracy, the constitution and the people of the country will be saved.

Lashing out at the Prime Minister for claiming to provide free food to 80 crore people, Kharge said, it was the Congress led UPA government which had brought the Food Security Act that enabled the government to provide free food to the poor. Besides, he asked Modi, “are you paying from your own pocket?”
The Congress president said, while his party has always taken care of the poor, the farmers and the small traders, Modi supports and patronises his own rich billionaire friends.
Kharge told the people that they had the double target of winning both the assembly as well as the General Elections scheduled this year for the welfare of the country and the state.

Alleging that there was a clear understanding between the BJP, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandra Babu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan, Kharge said, in Andhra Pradesh the ‘BJP’ stood for Babu (Naidu), Jagan (Reddy) and Pawan (Pawan Kalyan).
He said, Reddy had surrendered before the Prime Minister even knowing that he (the PM) had not done anything for the state.

Reiterating his charge against Modi that he was a liar, he pointed out, he had promised to provide two crore jobs every year and Rs 15 lakh deposit in every Indian’s bank account. “What happened to those promises?” he asked, while adding, what Modi had brought was price rise and unemployment and laws like GST which had further complicated the problems for everyone.

The Congress president announced that once his party forms the government in the state, it will bring in Indiramma Universal Basic Income support of Rs 5,000 per month to every poor family. He said, this is the Congress party’s guarantee for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Under this scheme money will be directly transferred into the bank account of the woman of the family, he added.
