In a significant development, law enforcement authorities have apprehended two suspects linked to the Kharar bouncer murder case following an intense encounter in Medicity, New Chandigarh, on Thursday.
According to officials, the arrested individuals have been identified as Vikram Rana from Teur village and Kiran, also known as Dhanoa, from Kharar.
Providing details of the operation, Mohali SP (Investigation) Jyoti Yadav stated, “Kiran Dhanoa has a prior record with an Arms Act case against him. During the encounter, two weapons believed to be connected to the crime and a motorcycle were recovered from the scene. One victim has sustained a bullet injury to the abdomen, and both suspects have been promptly transferred to medical facilities for treatment.”
The incident, which occurred on May 7, saw the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Manish Kumar, a resident of Teur village who worked as a bouncer. He was ambushed by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in broad daylight at Chando Gobindgarh village in Kharar, with the perpetrators shooting him at point-blank range, resulting in his tragic demise.
Manish, known for his involvement in an attempted murder case in Chandigarh and several other incidents registered at the Mataur police station in Mohali, was returning home from a gym in Kharar when the attack took place. Authorities suspect that the violence may be linked to the ongoing rivalry between the Lawrence Bishnoi-Bambiha gangs. The investigation suggests that the bouncer’s killing was a culmination of a longstanding feud spanning over eight years between rival factions of bouncers vying for control and dominance in the area.
