The district crime cell team has arrested a young man on charges of drug trafficking. The arrested youth was working as a KFC delivery boy. Alongside food delivery, the delivery boy was also supplying drugs in the Tricity. The identified arrested youth is Jeevan Singh Gill, residing in Sector 40/A, Chandigarh UT. The accused, who is a high school graduate, was indulging in drug trafficking with the KFC delivery job to earn quick money.
Jeevan Singh Gill had prior cases registered against him under the NDPS Act in Chandigarh. Inspector Jaswinder Singh, in charge of the district crime cell, informed that a special campaign against the drug mafia is ongoing. Under this campaign, based on confidential information, the crime cell team from Sector 24, Chandigarh UT, apprehended the accused near the C/D turn Sector 45. Upon search, 15.32 grams of heroin were seized. The accused, working as a KFC delivery boy, was involved in drug supply. The delivery boy was involved in supplying intoxicating drugs alongside food delivery. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Police Station 34, Chandigarh.
During the investigation, accused Jeevan Singh Gill confessed that he had been involved in the business of selling intoxicating drugs for many years. He used to procure narcotics from various regions in Punjab and sell them in the Tricity area for profit. He revealed that he took up the job of a delivery boy at KFC in Chandigarh to conceal his drug business. Drugs were also supplied alongside the deliveries. Accused Jeevan Singh Gill has been presented in court and taken into police remand.
