On Monday, Bengaluru police apprehended a guy in the Begur district of south Bengaluru for reportedly killing his live-in partner by bashing her skull with a pressure cooker.

The dead has been identified as Deva (24), a local of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and the accused as Vaishnav, a native of Kollam, Kerala. The accused is currently being investigated by Bengaluru police.

Speaking to reporters, Bengaluru South DCP CK Baba said, “In Mico layout in Begur police station limits. Both the people had been living in the same house for a couple of years. They are both from Kerala. They were working in sales and marketing area. Few days ago, Vaishnav had some doubts about the deceased, they used to fight over it. On Sunday, the argument raised between them and he hit the girl with a cooker while cooking and she died on spot.”

As per officials a case has been registered under section 302 in the IPC. For the past two years, the couple had shared a leased residence in Begur, South Bengaluru. According to the neighbors, the couple used to have frequent verbal spats. According to police, the two had known one other since they were in college.

Vaishnav, a marketing professional at a local firm, escaped after committing the murder and was apprehended by police on Monday. However, the police stated that neither party had previously filed a complaint.
