In a striking statement, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has systematically removed all potential obstacles to Amit Shah’s rise to power, with only Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remaining. Kejriwal suggested that Adityanath’s removal is imminent, asserting that the BJP’s silence on the matter is indicative of their agreement with his prediction.
Kejriwal’s comments came during a joint press conference in Lucknow with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. The AAP leader outlined four major points to appeal to Uttar Pradesh voters, urging them to support the INDIA Alliance. He alleged that Modi is not seeking votes for himself but for Shah to become the next Prime Minister. Additionally, Kejriwal warned that a BJP victory could lead to the end of reservations for SC, ST, and OBC, as well as changes to the Constitution written by Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
The AAP National Convenor also referenced a rule purportedly made by Modi in 2014, which mandates retirement for BJP members over the age of 75 from government posts. Kejriwal highlighted past instances where senior BJP leaders were retired under this rule and claimed that Modi, who will turn 75 next year, has chosen Shah as his successor.
Kejriwal’s assertions about the BJP’s stance on reservations contradict recent statements from BJP leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who have assured that the BJP government will never change the Constitution or end reservation. These leaders have accused the Congress of creating a “fear psychosis” and spreading misinformation for political gain.
The AAP leader’s bold predictions come amidst a backdrop of what he describes as declining BJP influence in key states. He claims that election trends show the BJP securing less than 220 seats nationwide, with significant losses in Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan. Kejriwal concludes by calling for widespread support for the INDIA Alliance, promising a government that will correct the “negativity” spread by the BJP and lead the country on a path of progress. The results of the Lok Sabha elections are eagerly awaited, with the INDIA Alliance and BJP presenting contrasting visions for India’s future.
