Karnataka gives nod to 78 industrial projects worth rupees 5298.69 crore investment

Bengaluru, March 19th: The State Industries and Commerce Department recently cleared a total of 78 investment proposals worth Rs 5298.69 crore promising 13917 jobs.

The 138th State Level Single Window Clearance Committee (SLSWCC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Murugesh R Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, at the Karnataka Udyog Mitra office.

The committee considered and approved 17 important large and medium size industrial projects with investments of more than Rs 50 crore. These projects are worth Rs. 3552.66 crores and are expected to create employment opportunities for 6933 persons in the state.

At the SLSWCC meeting, 59 new projects with investments of more than Rs 15 crore and less than Rs 50 crore were also cleared. These projects worth Rs 1542.88 crore would generate jobs for 6984 people in Karnataka.

Two projects of additional investment have also been approved, which will result in an investment of Rs 203.15 crore and would generate massive employment opportunities.

In total, 78 investment proposals worth Rs 5298.69 crore promising 13197 jobs were approved in the meeting.

Dr. S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary (commerce & Industries), Ms. Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner for Industries, Mr. R. Girish, CEO, KIADB, Mr. Gangadharaiah, Managing Director, Karnataka Udyog Mitra and other senior officers of the department were present.
