As temperatures rise, the Kanpur Traffic Police in Uttar Pradesh has introduced special AC helmets for its personnel designed to keep them cool in hot weather conditions ranging from 40 to 42 degrees Celsius.

DCP Traffic Aarti Singh stated to ANI that due to the summer heat, AC helmets have been developed for the traffic policemen. “Currently, these helmets have been provided on a trial basis to traffic policemen stationed at six major intersections in the city, with successful results. Soon, these AC helmets will be distributed to traffic policemen at other intersections as well.”

The AC helmet, manufactured by a company based in Hyderabad, boasts several special features. “Wearing this helmet provides a great deal of coolness… It also includes a charging point, making it easy to charge. Once fully charged, the helmet provides cooling for 8 hours,” Singh explained.

There have been incidents where traffic policemen stationed at intersections to manage traffic have fainted due to the heat. The AC helmet aims to mitigate the impact of sunlight, providing significant relief.

The helmet also features a cap to shield the eyes of policemen from the sun. Traffic police personnel who tested the helmets on a trial basis reported improved comfort and effectiveness in their work compared to before.
