Just six months before the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana and about a year before the Assembly elections, the rally being held in Kaithal on the 110th birth anniversary of Tau Devi Lal will be significant in many ways. If everything goes according to plan, the rally could reshape the state’s political landscape. The fate of INLD may also change due to this rally. INLD leader Abhay Chautala has made significant claims about this rally. He has even stated that 80% of the country’s opposition leaders will participate in it. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will attend this rally as the chief guest.
At the same time, INLD has also extended invitations to Congress and AAP. Abhay himself reached Delhi to meet Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and invite him to the rally. The biggest question is whether 87-year-old former CM Omprakash Chautala will be able to replicate the history created 37 years ago by his father, former Deputy PM Chaudhary Devi Lal, who brought the entire opposition onto one platform. Efforts to recreate this historical moment have also begun. Abhay Singh Chautala himself has invited prominent figures from all parties within the I.N.D.I.A alliance through this rally.
Congress and INLD, which have been political rivals for years, may now share a platform. This possibility has gained strength following a meeting between INLD National General Secretary Abhay Chautala and Congress Party National President Mallikarjun Kharge. Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge has accepted Abhay Chautala’s invitation and extended his best wishes for organizing the Honor Day function. Regarding participation in the rally, he stated that the decision would be made at the party level. Many prominent figures from the opposition alliance ‘Bharat,’ including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, will participate in the Kaithal rally of the Indian National Lok Dal on September 25th. Nitish Kumar aims to include INLD in the I.N.D.I.A alliance. Currently, there are 28 parties in the alliance, and with INLD’s joining, it will increase to 29 parties. Abhay Chautala says, ‘Our aim is to oust the BJP, and any party that joins us will be respected.
In this INLD rally, notable leaders including NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, Farooq Abdullah, former CM Uddhav Thackeray, former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Sitaram Yechury, BJP leader Ch. Birendra Singh, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal, former Governor Satyapal Malik, Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary, Hanuman Beniwal, KC Tyagi, and Bhim Army’s Chandrashekhar Azad, Sher Singh Rana, among others, will be in attendance.
