The President of India has appointed Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao as the Chief Justice of Telangana as Justice P Naveen Rao being the senior most judge serving the Telangana High Court. Therefore, the same being the consequent to the elevation of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan to the judge of Supreme Court.
Therefore, Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao will be the acting as the Chief Justice of Telangana only for a single day, Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao is set to bid adieu to the Telangana High upon the retirement of him on the 14 July 2023.
Justice Ponugoti Naveen Rao will be succeeded by Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili, who being the senior most Judge of Telangana High Court.
