In a robust effort targeting wanted terrorists based in Pakistan, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have initiated a special drive against absconders and wanted terrorists. As part of this operation, properties belonging to four terrorist handlers, declared as proclaimed offenders by the Hon’ble Court, have been seized by the Handwara Police District.
These proclaimed offenders fled to Pakistan or Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the 1990s or early 2000s and have since been actively involved in terrorist activities, including handling terrorists and promoting terrorism in Handwara and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

These individuals are also implicated in various cases within the Handwara Police District, as they actively work towards reviving and perpetuating terrorism in the region.
Additionally, the Court has declared 51 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir, who underwent illegal arms training in Pakistan/PoK and are currently operating from there, as proclaimed offenders. Legal actions against them are under consideration.
This decisive action by the J&K Police underscores their commitment to dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring peace and security in the region. The seizure of properties linked to terrorist handlers aims to disrupt their illicit activities and curb the influence of individuals promoting violence from abroad.
