Jind district is witnessing a surge in swine flu cases, with the death toll rising. According to the Health Department, a resident of Uchana Kalan, undergoing treatment at an out-of-district hospital, succumbed to swine flu.

Prior to this, a resident of Urban Estate, Gurthali, also died from swine flu. A significant number of positive cases have been reported in Jind. However, sampling for swine flu has not yet commenced at the civil hospital, despite the seriousness of the situation.

Approximately 1500 patients are visiting the civil hospital daily for sampling, but no samples for swine flu testing have been collected yet. It is worth mentioning that 11 new cases of swine flu were reported in Jind on Wednesday, with three fatalities. The Health Department is on high alert, and a separate ward has been designated at the civil hospital in Jind.

Dr. Vijendra Singh stated that they are fully prepared at their level. Swine flu symptoms are typically evident, including a sore throat and high fever in infected individuals. Sampling of patients is also underway at the Jind hospital.
