Meanwhile, the IDF announced an increase in soldier numbers on the ground as part of its expanding campaign in Gaza.
Forces are also operating deeper into the enclave than they have been since the beginning of the conflict.
According to The Times of Israel, an IDF officer was badly injured by a mortar strike, while a soldier was moderately injured during a gun battle with Hamas. Both incidences occurred overnight in the northern Gaza Strip.
According to the IDF, the pair was transferred to a hospital for treatment.

Israel has been fighting Hamas since October 7, when 2,500 terrorists stormed the country by land, sea, and air, killing over 1,400 people, the vast majority of them were civilians in their homes and at an outdoor music festival.
Meanwhile, the IDF re-issued an urgent plea for residents in Gaza to flee south on Sunday, as the ground forces enter the next phase of their conflict with the terrorist group Hamas.
