Jawan director Atlee has revealed that, yes, he was working on a possible script that would feature King Khan of Bollywood and Thalapathy Vijay of Kollywood. Speaking to a YouTube channel, Atlee made this stunning revelation which has become the latest talking point.
When Shah Rukh was in Chennai shooting for Jawan’s Zinda Banda song, he met Tamil film star, Vijay, at Atlee’s birthday party. The two film stars were reportedly open to working together and expressed their interest too, said the Mersal director. Atlee said that he was working hard to come up with a good script that will befit both these big stars.
Atlee had stated earlier, “They both told me to bring a script and, ‘Definitely, we will do.’ I thought they were just saying it because it was my birthday. But the next day, Vijay sir messaged me, ‘If you are going to write, I am definitely a part of it’.”
Vijay had always been a fan of SRK. In 2007 in an interview, Thalapathy was asked about playing negative roles and he had said then, “I am not 100 per cent comfortable with an anti-hero character. But, maybe, if I am offered roles such as Shah Rukh’s Baazigar or Darr, then I think would consider.” The Leo star had congratulated the Jawan team when the film grossed Rs 1000 crore. He took to his social media to write, “Congratulations on the blockbuster @iamsrk, @Atlee_dir and the entire #Jawan team! Love you too @iamsrk sir (sic).” Atlee had spoken about a Hollywood project he had been approached for after Jawan but there has been no news on whether that had been signed on.
The Tamil director has worked on three films with Vijay – Their, Mersal and Bigil. Jawan was his first project in Hindi and with Shah Rukh Khan.
