Idemitsu Kosan, a Japanese company of oil refining, is coming up with techniques to transform their industrial construction with the aim of neutralising carbon by 2050 with the world’s most essential mission of carbon neutralization.
Tetsuji Miahima, an Idemitsu kosan official, stated that the Tokuyama Complex, Idemitsu’s first oil refinery, was built in 1957.”Seven years later, we built a chemical plant adjacent to each other, and although we stopped the oil refining business in 2014, we are still contributing to supplying raw materials to the petrochemical complex.”
Tetsuji Mishina also said. “We are working to reduce CO2 to zero for use in our operations by 2050. The raw material for biomass power generation is wood biochips. “
“We are making thermal power generation using woody biomass as fuel, and we are trying to make electricity without discharging heat,” the official said.
Additionally, he said, “We are currently trying to establish supply chain transportation, bring it to Japan, store and burn it, and also supply it to customers.”
Speaking further, the official said: “EV next generation EV vehicles do not emit CO2. I hope that if this new four-seater car is developed, we will be able to use it not only to move inside the factory but also to appeal to citizens as an eco-friendly mobility user. Since its inception, Tokuyama Complex has fulfilled its social mission to provide a stable supply of energy and chemical materials that are necessary for the local community.”
Plants release CO2 as they burn, but they also take it up through photosynthesis as they develop. It has the property that it has no effect on the volume of emissions as a result of burning.
