Yogi Adityanath says Article 370 fuelled terrorism in J&K

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a significant statement during an election rally in Kathua, asserting that Article 370 fueled terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the crowd ahead of the first phase polling for the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency on April 19, Adityanath highlighted the detrimental impact of Article 370 on the region’s security and development. He credited the decisive action taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to revoke Article 370, which he described as the root cause of terrorism.

Adityanath emphasized that the removal of Article 370 has facilitated the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the national mainstream, bringing enthusiasm and excitement among the people. He expressed gratitude to the leadership for their strong resolve in addressing the challenges faced by the region.

In his speech, Adityanath also criticized the Congress, holding them responsible for India’s partition and accusing them of neglecting Jammu and Kashmir’s interests during their rule. The Chief Minister highlighted the BJP government’s achievements in ensuring border security and fostering an environment of peace along the Indo-Pak border. He cited Pakistan’s cautious responses to incidents as evidence of India’s strong stance under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

Adityanath’s remarks resonate with the BJP’s narrative of prioritizing national security and development, aiming to garner support from voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency is set for a triangular contest, with candidates from the Congress and other parties challenging incumbent MP and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh of the BJP.

Polling for the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency is scheduled for April 19, marking the commencement of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections. Adityanath’s assertions underscore the key issues shaping the electoral discourse in the region.
