In a major breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with the Army and CRPF, successfully dismantled a terror module linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) and The Resistance Front (TRF) in the Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to a police spokesman, the security forces conducted a coordinated operation in the Tutigund forest, leading to the apprehension of terror associates Pervaiz Ahmad Dar and Showkat Ahmad Shergujri. The duo, residents of Tutigund Handwara, played a crucial role in the uncovered terror module.

Subsequent to the arrests, law enforcement recovered a cache of arms, dealing a significant blow to the nefarious activities of LET and TRF in the region. The seized weaponry is expected to aid ongoing investigations, shedding light on the extent and nature of the terror plot.
The police have registered a case under FIR No. 264/2023 at Police Station Handwara and have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter. The authorities remain vigilant, and additional arrests and recoveries are anticipated as the investigation progresses.
The successful operation underscores the commitment of the security forces to maintaining peace and thwarting terrorist activities in the region. The Jammu and Kashmir Police urge the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure the continued safety and security of the community.
