Samba police captures most wanted heroin supplier ‘Kala’

In a major breakthrough under the astute leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police, Benam Tosh, Samba Police successfully apprehended the most sought-after heroin supplier known as “Kala.” Operating from the notorious Chitta hotspot in Rakh Barotian, Vijaypur district, Samba, “Kala” was wanted in several cases related to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPSA) and attacks on law enforcement.
Identified as Masoom Ali, alias Kala, son of Dulla, hailing from Rakh Barotian in the Vijaypur tehsil of Samba district, the arrested heroin supplier faced charges in six cases. These include FIR No.152/2018 under sections 353/332 RPC of PS Vijaypur, FIR No.203/2021 under sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS Vijaypur, FIR No.46/2023 under sections 8/21/29 NDPS Act of PS Samba, FIR No.184/2023 under sections 307/341/353/ 332/382/147/148 IPC of PS Samba, FIR No.38/2023 under sections 307/382/353/
332/336/147/148 IPC of PS Vijaypur, and FIR No.132/2023 under sections 307/382/332/ 353/148/149/34 IPC of PS Vijaypur. Despite being on the run and evading arrest for over six months, “Kala” finally faced the law after the recent arrest of his wife for an attack on the police. This successful operation brings relief to the parents of the addicted youth in Samba and adjoining districts.
Known for consistently supplying heroin, “Kala” had managed to evade police cordons, raids, and special checkpoints multiple times. However, the relentless efforts of the police, employing changed tactics and methodologies, resulted in his eventual arrest.
The police team, led by SHO Police Station Vijaypur Sandeep Charak and PSI Ankush Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, played a crucial role in this operation.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh, highlighted the continuous efforts of the Samba Police in apprehending top heroin smugglers and suppliers in the district. With a total of seventy-eight (78) narcotic suppliers/smugglers arrested in the past ten months, the Samba Police are taking stringent legal action against them. Furthermore, hardcore heroin smugglers and suppliers are being detained under stringent PITNDPSA/PSA, reinforcing the commitment to combating drug-related crimes in the region.
