Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who arrived in Shimla on Sunday, gave the Congress government’s first anniversary celebrations in Dharamsala a miss.
She was to attend a programme in Dharamsala to mark the first anniversary of the party-led state government.
On Monday, the government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu completed one year in Himachal Pradesh. To commemorate this one-year milestone, a state-level event was held in Dharamshala. Rajeev Shukla, the in-charge of Himachal Pradesh Congress, attended the event as a special guest. During the event, all cabinet ministers and leaders of the Himachal Pradesh Congress were seen on the stage.
Addressing the public in Dharamshala, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that all promises made to the people will be fulfilled at all costs.
He claimed that the previous BJP government emptied the treasury of Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister announced from the stage that the state government will begin purchasing cow dung at a rate of two rupees per kilogram before the first week of January 2024. Furthermore, instead of purchasing milk from dairy producers at 31 rupees per liter, it will now be procured at 37 rupees per liter. Sukhu mentioned that they plan to introduce several significant schemes in the 2024-25
budget. “We’ve given employees their rights” – CM Sukhu. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that upon coming to power, their first cabinet worked on giving employees their due rights. The state government made the decision to reinstate the old pension scheme. He mentioned that since assuming office, they have been working on changing the system that has been in place for 40 years. The Chief Minister pledged to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant by 2027 and to make it the number one state in the country by 2032. CM Sukhu reiterated that every promise made to the people will be fulfilled without fail.
