In a significant operation against illegal mineral mining, police in Baramulla have seized 11 vehicles and apprehended 9 drivers involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minerals.

Under the direction of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, and with the supervision of SDPOs from Pattan, Tangmarg, and Kreeri, along with assistance from SHOs of various police stations including Kreeri, Kunzer, Delina, Kungamdara, and Mirgund, the police carried out targeted actions at Kreeri, Delina, Kungamdara, Kunzer, and Mirgund areas. Cases have been registered against the accused drivers under relevant sections of the law at respective police stations, and further investigations into the illegal mining activities are underway.

A stern warning has been issued to the public against engaging in any form of illegal mining from rivers or streams, emphasizing that such actions constitute a violation of government regulations. Individuals found participating in illegal mining activities will face legal consequences as per the law. This crackdown underscores the commitment of the authorities to curb illegal mining practices and uphold environmental regulations in the region.
