The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Shri V. K Birdi-IPS, led a comprehensive security review meeting in Kulgam, focusing on the security landscape, ongoing anti-terrorist operations, and the effectiveness of investigations. Accompanied by DIG SKR Shri Rayees Mohammad Bhat, SSP Kulgam, Addl. SP Kulgam, and all DySPs of district Kulgam, the meeting addressed critical aspects such as the current security scenario, existing security grid, operational challenges, and countermeasures.
During the meeting, officers provided detailed briefings to the IGP, covering a spectrum of issues, including security challenges and measures implemented to address them. Recognizing the significance of a robust security grid, IGP Kashmir urged officers to enhance coordination among ground agencies. He stressed the importance of proactive measures to strengthen the anti-terrorist grid, generate specific intelligence, and intensify operations aimed at fostering peace and stability in the district.
Special attention was dedicated to monitoring anti-national elements, specifically focusing on terrorist associates, underscoring the commitment to maintaining peace in the region. The IGP reinforced a zero-tolerance policy towards drug dealings, emphasizing the need for strict action against peddlers.
