Today, the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Roads Organisation, RK Dhiman, along with Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH), Rahul Gupta, conducted a detailed inspection of the development projects underway on the Akhnoor-Poonch national highway in Jammu and Kashmir. They were joined by Chief Engineer of Project Sampark, Brigadier Neeraj Madan.

The focus of the inspection was to evaluate the progress and quality of ongoing infrastructure projects, including the construction of three tunnels—Kandi, Sungal, and Naushera—that are integral to enhancing connectivity and spurring regional development.
The visiting officers expressed satisfaction with the advancements made on the projects, commending the dedication and expertise exhibited by the workforce involved. The scope of the project encompasses the construction of roads, bridges, and tunnels. Once completed, the upgraded national highway is expected to substantially reduce travel time, improve connectivity across regions, and ensure all-weather accessibility, particularly in challenging terrains and adverse weather conditions.

The thorough inspection underscores the commitment of the Border Roads Organisation and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to delivering critical infrastructure that will positively impact the socio-economic landscape of the region.
