Rift in Rajasthan govt ahead of Rising Rajasthan Summit

Rajasthan BJP has grappled with a controversy just ahead of Rising Rajasthan. A political rift has emerged in Rajasthan even before the arrival of investors for the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit. As the state prepares to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi and investors from across the globe between December 9th and 11th, Cabinet Minister Kirodi Lal Meena has levelled serious allegations against his own government. The controversy surfaced from a dispute between Meena and Mahesh Nagar Police Station In-charge, Kavita Sharma. Following the dispute, a case was filed against Meena.
Addressing the media at Pink City Press Club on Friday, Meena claimed, “A case is being filed against me in my own government. CI Kavita Sharma is so influential that even during Congress rule, no one dared to harm her. Even now, no action is being taken against her.”
The Rising Rajasthan Summit, a major event aimed at attracting global investments, will feature high-profile delegates from India and abroad, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest for the inaugural session. Despite the tensions within the government, the event is set to highlight Rajasthan’s potential as an investment hub.
Not only this, Meena said, “Only Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma can provide information about the case registered against me on whose behest and on whose instructions the case was registered against me. I had gone to save Manju Sharma and Anita Gurjar under the provision of BNS.”
During this press conference, he also showed a video clip of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech. In this video, the Prime Minister is seen discussing the Indian Civil Code and saying that no police officer can detain any person without giving information in writing. Meena said that this government is his, so will he tolerate injustice.
Meena said, “CI Kavita Sharma had gone to forcibly pick up a young woman Manju Sharma and Mamta Gurjar late at night. I made a mistake by going to the spot to save them. I will not go there in future, because if I do so, a case will be registered against me.”
Kirodi Lal Meena has accused CI Kavita Sharma of forcibly entering Manju Sharma’s house late at night, despite her parents’ objections. According to Meena, Kavita Sharma forcibly took Manju Sharma, causing significant distress to her grandmother. The shock from the incident reportedly led to her grandmother’s death on Friday morning. Meena has held SHO Kavita Sharma responsible for the grandmother’s death and has demanded strict action against her.
Meanwhile, during the press conference, Meena also made several allegations against CI Kavita Sharma. He said that in the year 2017, a case was also registered against Kavita Sharma and her sisters for making a fake lease of a plot, but the DG did not allow the charge sheet to be presented in this case. At the same time, the DCP has also written a letter to the Commissioner twice regarding her working style. Once he recommended the suspension of Kavita Sharma and the second time he asked to make Kavita Sharma non-field, but no action was taken on that either. Not only this, Meena said that officers and leaders are protecting Kavita Sharma. He will also reveal this soon.
He said, “After asking BJP state president Madan Rathore, I will tell the media which officers have been protecting CI Kavita Sharma till now. And which leaders are involved in this.”
On the night of December 3, a heated dispute occurred between Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena and Mahesh Nagar Police Station Officer CI Kavita Sharma in Jaipur. Dr Meena expressed his anger towards the CI, accusing her of visiting the home of student leaders who were demanding the cancellation of the SI recruitment exam. He alleged that Sharma harassed their families and locked the student leader and his wife in a room.
During the confrontation, Sharma reportedly told the minister, “Sir, why are you getting angry? Talk calmly.”
The situation escalated until Meena contacted Jaipur Police Commissioner and DCP South, which eventually helped calm the matter. A video of the incident later surfaced.
