Mimicry of VP Dhankhar sparks outrage in Rajasthan

The case of mimicry involving the Vice President of the country, Jagdeep Dhankhar, has heated up politically. In Rajasthan, the Jat community, along with the farming community, is protesting by taking to the streets. Meanwhile, the Supremo of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party and MLA Hanuman Beniwal have stirred up the matter in the state by stating the Vice President. Beniwal termed it a political stunt while speaking to the media outside the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Thursday. He also mentioned that the Vice President is in a constitutional position, and a constitutional figure cannot be divided into any caste or society.
Accusing the BJP of playing politics, Beniwal has expressed resentment among Jats regarding Dhankhar. After becoming an MLA, Beniwal recently resigned from the Lok Sabha membership. The circumstances are such that Beniwal’s party, RLP, had to face a decisive defeat in the assembly elections. Unlike the previous time when three MLAs won, this time Beniwal barely won by a thin margin. It is worth noting that Vice President Dhankhar hails from Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan. The way TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee mimicked him, and the video made by Rahul Gandhi, has caused dissatisfaction throughout the state.
Speaking to the media outside the assembly, Beniwal said, “This is a political stunt. There was no intention of MPs doing something like this. Rahul Gandhi will not even care about the benefits or losses of making a video. If he had paid attention, Congress would not have been in such a situation. There was no intention of hurting the sentiments of any community or farmers by MPs.”
He added, “The BJP and the Prime Minister are trying to associate him with the Jat community. So that BJP can get votes in the Lok Sabha elections. Although people are not going to vote for these things. As far as the demonstration is concerned, if someone is suspended from the Rajya Sabha, it will be a joke. He won’t perform Aarti for them. MPs had no such intention. There was no sentiment of MPs like this. He was a Member of Parliament from West Bengal, where there are very few people from our community.”
Expressing displeasure over the insult to Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar in Parliament, National Minister Alka Gurjar said, “The way the Vice President was mocked is deeply condemnable. Making a video of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s act shows the Congress’s low mentality towards constitutional positions.”
She added, “This insult is not just an insult to any one community. Rather, it is an insult to the entire farming class and the state of Rajasthan. The opposition is not happy that the son of a farmer is sitting in a high constitutional position. Their mentality is clear they want to disrespect farmers, the poor, youth, and women. The guiding principle of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas” (Together with all, development for all, trust of all). The BJP is working on this policy.”
MLA Dr Kirori Lal Meena from Sawai Madhopur constituency also commented on Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. He said, “Rahul has Rome in his heart, and we have Ram in our hearts. There is a wave of “Ram” in the country. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP will once again win all 25 seats in Rajasthan.” Along with this, Meena commented on the mimicry case of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, stating, “It is cruelty against democracy. The position of the Vice President is a constitutional one, and opposition leaders have made fun of it throughout the country. Surprisingly, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi himself was making the video.”
Speaking to the media in Dausa, Meena said that the Vice President is a farmer’s son, so this is an insult to the farmers and the OBC category in the country. He added, “Rahul Gandhi and his alliance should apologize to the country. In the upcoming times, the people of the country will retaliate against this insult through the Congress and its alliance.”
