Several positive aspects are being observed in the voting that took place on November 25 in Rajasthan. The differently-abled individuals in the state have proven that they are no less than anyone else. In fact, for the first time in the state, the option of home voting was given to differently-abled individuals and those aged over 80 years. However, showcasing their determination, the differently-abled individuals chose to ignore home voting and conveyed a message to people by voting through EVMs at the polling centres. Not only that, with a voter turnout of 76.16%, they actively participated in strengthening democracy. Whereas, the overall voting in the state was 74.45%.
It is worth noting that there are a total of 5,60,450 differently-abled voters in the state. Out of these, only 11,656 voters opted for home voting. While 4,15,177, despite their disabilities, reached the polling centres and cast their votes, setting a record. Differently-abled individuals have cast a total of 4,15,177 votes through EVMs and home voting. The highest number of votes by differently-abled individuals was in the Alwar district, where 27,012 votes were cast. In Jaipur, they secured the second position with 25,082 votes, followed by Nagaur with 22,525 exercising their voting rights.
