Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s unexpected visit to New Delhi to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah has raised many eyebrows in the political arena. Amidst the ongoing row involving Reddy’s visit to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, which was opposed by the opposing TDP on-grounds of him being a ‘non-believer’ and his troubles with the Andhra High Court, his visit can be seen as an attempt to garner support from the Central government.

With YSRCP supporting all NDA bills in both houses of Parliament, Reddy seeks support for the 3-capital bill along with securing additional finances to offset revenue deficit, more funds for Polavaram project, approval to the Disha Act, etc, through his meeting with Shah.
