Jabalpur Blast Case: Rs15,000 Reward Offered On Scrapyard Owner

According to an official on Tuesday, the police in the Jabalpur bomb case have announced a reward of Rs 15,000 for information leading to the arrest of the owner of the scrapyard where the incident occurred.

The blast occurred around noon on April 25 in a scrapyard near the Khajri Khiriya bypass, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Adhartal police station in Jabalpur district. The explosion resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

Following the incident, on April 26, the district administration demolished the illegal structures of the scrapyard located in Anand Nagar, the city. Shamim Rza, the owner of the scrapyard, had previously been the target of a formal complaint. After the blast, he fled the area.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sonali Dubey stated, “Two persons have been arrested in the matter so far. The main accused Haji Shamim Rza has been absconding since the incident occurred. A reward of Rs 15000 has been announced for his arrest.”

“It was not a normal LPG cylinder blast. It is an explosive blast. We will provide more information only after the probe report comes. A team of National Security Guard (NSG) is currently investigating the matter with the help of local police,” Dubey stated.

The officer further mentioned that additional investigation into the issue is currently ongoing.
